I am in the process of restoring a 52 Chevy pickup.I believe the original was a shade of green,pretty dark green.Can anyone tell me the correct color of the body and interior as well as frame,engine compartment and engine also
?What type of paint,single stage I would assume.Wheres the best place to purchase and what type of primer,reducers and hardeners etc. to do the truck.One last question ,how much of each?

Probably Forrester green, but see the sticky post labeled "Paint Factory Colors" at the beginning of this section. It also details what parts were painted what color. As for how much, I would budget 1.5 gallons of paint with an HVLP and 2 gallons with conventional sprayer. The primer and reducers you use need to be compatible with whatever top coat you chose for the truck. Your paint supplier will be your best resource for this.

Woodchuck08....The best advice I can give You, whatever brand
of paint refinish system You choose stay with manfacturers full
refinish system. If You use Dupont paint then use their full system, primers, hardners, sealers ect. If You choose Ditsler
stay within their system...If go out of the system You'll be sure to get into trouble, plus You have to start over again...More $$$$$
My truck is Forrester green, which is a low hiding color, My
advice to You is, I took Dupont's clear tintable sealer and using
99L Black, sprayed one wet coat, allowed it to flash, then came back with a 2 qt. pressure pot and got complete coverage in one coat, I gave it 4 coats...4 coats of clear with color mixed in clear Bill B
