I have a 62 c-10 stepside, numbers matching, it is all original except for the hub caps and radio. The old gal isn't very fast or agile but is very dependable. I drive it everywhere I go including the whole 3 miles to work. It was originally a California truck, still have the black cali license plate. The previous owner said to hang onto it, not sure for what reason but I still have it. These old trucks are a joy to drive and it is actually used like a truck. I haul wood, furniture or whatever in it. I let my brother drive it one day and he's wanting to get an old truck now.

OK I'm done rambling now. Not a very good writer.

Lots of Californians want to have those black license plates.

A truck sure doesn't need to be new to be useful!

My plates are the black ones and a little bent but there is a fellow not far from me who does restoring on licence plates. When I get close to driveable I will have him restore them for me.

Not a bad story at all, excellant....

They are alot of fun & in some cases infectious(in a good way)! grin

Definitely hold onto the black plate...they're worth keeping around!

Up here in "Warshington" you can register any vehicle over 30 years old as a "restored vehicle" and can use the original (or year of manufacture) plates.

I just can't get over how crisp and clean your truck looks, real nice thumbs_up

I know what you mean about slow, city buses beat me off the line but I catch them once I'm in third blush

It took 11 years but we got "an ol' truck",
was driven daily, now short drives only frown

Thanks for the complimant Tedy. I'm currently in the process of installing new bed boards and putting zero rust on the frame. And I just scored some correct hub caps that I have been repainting. I will post some new pics when I am finished.
