The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Paint and Body Shop 56 3100 Fender Help

My 56 fenders, both sides, have 4 holes drilled through both the inner and outer fenders in the area where they curve down to meet with the front grill. It would be in the seam between the hood and the fender about the last 12 inches before you get to the grill. Would someone have a picture of how these would be finished, and what there purpose is? It can't be bolt heads as that would hit the hood edge. I guess they could have been spot welded, and then drilled out. I don't have a clue, but want them fixed, even if its with bondo. Let me know what you think.

I know the area you're talking about. Those are where the front inner grille baffle was riveted to the fender. You can use pan head screws for this if you like, but rivets work better.

OK, well I'll be pulling the fenders off this spring to replace both lower inner pillar covers that are rusted out. I'll wait till I get it all back together then put in some rivets. I would still like to see how others have finished this area so I'll have some ideas on what it shouls look like if anyone has some photos to share. Thanks!
