I am trying to locate what this casting number fits on the bellhousing. I have looked and looked and need some help from an expert researcher on casting numbers.

It is 3733373 The original number should be 3738373 and it looks like 3738373 but sure it is a 3733373.

Anyone got a site I can find this number and what the heck it fits?

Thanks, Steve

Steve,I'm not sure what you have. The same casting numbers are in question at a corvette forum. They say the casting number was released in 1956 and probably passenger car or truck. No one is really sure about it.Could it be a canadian casting number ?

I have no idea Tim...I have searched every site I could open up and nowhere is the number listed. I am going to contact the chevy dealer this morning and ask them if they can tell me what it fits. I did read that same info in some coevette forums. It is a mystery. The previous owner of the truck swears it is original.

thanks, Steve

I checked my casting guide and the closest I could come up with is 3738307, 235, 58-62, or 3788813, 261, 58. Maybe there was a problem with the casting change the 8 to 3 and the 1 to 7 and you get the 261. frown

Found on ebay. I can't post the auction in this forum, so let me know if you want more info.

"The casting number is 3733373 dated A97 ( January 9th 1957 ) .

Originally this came on a 57 Chevy truck with a factory installed 265 or 283 engine such as a Cameo Carrier Suburban Pickup"
