I got the parts back yesterday. The center hood strip & tranys are OK but the hood bird flat sucks. Very poor work. Every crease & groove is still pitted. One of the grooves still has original paint in it.
I tried calling yesterday afternoon just before 4 & someone would pickup the phone then hang up to stop the ringing. I checked the bank and the check hadn't cleared yet so I stopped payment on the check. I called this morning and actually got someone to answer the phone. They said the primary boss was out 'til Monday & the "other" boss will be in about 8:30AM. I'll post the outcome after I make the call.

We have even less choice over here! The E.P.A guys are making it really hard for these folks to survive. I been recommended a couple of places that the motorcycle guys use, they just don't accept poor chrome! I hope you get the problem sorted Tiny...... 1950 Chevy Advance Design 3100 in ScotlandIn the Stovebolt GalleryMore pix on Flickr. If they say yes and then no to Copper then run like hell from them as the plating is going to SUCK as you will see all the polishing marks in the metal. Copper under plating takes out the polishing marks by filling them in it my take a few times in the Copper bath then the repolish and and then when all the marks are out the Nickel coating goes on then repolish then the chrome. This process makes the chrome look deep with a great luster. Don't settle for less. Most remanfuctures only nickel, nickel, chrome their parts because its cheaper! In closing I will say you get what you pay for. For me it's C.N.C. the only to go! The plater I deal with is top notch and charges a fair price for his work and quality at just about the same price as the short cutters. 62Blue Don

They have done all the chrome on the 1949 Chevrolet we're redoing now. And let me tell you, a '49 Chevrolet convertible has LOTS of chrome.

I have had my share of screwups in my early days and just hate to see some one get taken by a no good clown. But the secret is the Copper plating which acts just like primer under the paint. The more the prep the better it comes out. I am real lucky to have a great plater close by. Don 62Blue.

They do quality work at fair market prices. I have never used Diversified or talked with anyone who has. Sorry you had such a bad experience with a OKC company.

Not cheap, but you will be unable to find better quality. Same way with an outfit in Dubuque Iowa called AIH. I used them both over the years and the work is exactly what you want. You WILL pay for the quality but with plating there is no substitute for the triple plating old school method. I found out that AIH and The Finishing Touch sub work out to each other depending on size of parts. I think AIH has BIG tanks for bumper size work and the Finishing Touch does not. FWIW. | | |
