Hi Guys,
Not new to the forum. Have been a member since November at the time I acquired my truck. I wanted to share some pics (now that I have finally learned how to do it).
Based on the VIN, the '51 came off the assembly line at the Atlanta plant in June, four months before I was born. Have had a lot of fun getting the 216 in tune and shifting thru the gears. Had the gas tank cleaned out and sealed, cleaned out the fuel pump, and rebuilt the carb.
I have really gained a lot of information on this site and have been inspired by a number of the members, especially guys like Czechman and Wally Body. Their attention to detail, pictures and documentation have inspired me to take on tasks that I never would attempt otherwise. I've done plenty of mechanical work and interior cosmetic work on my 71 Buick and 71 Cutlass, but since I got this truck, it seems like I have had a sawzall in one hand and a cutoff tool in the other; and my son is ready to use the MIG on floor board, cowl, and rocker replacement and converting the 3 window cab to 5.
