Because I am around old motorcycles and have to make lots of things to make them work, I make my own control cables. I have used a cable lubricator for years. Available at just about any motorcycle shop or ebay:

Because I'm in the middle of installing a 12 bolt rear end I thought I might try to lubricate the emergency brake cables b4 I weld the darn thing in situ. I really didn't think my M/C lub fitting would fit over the cable and housing end of the rear brake cable. I tried it and it does FIT.
WooHoooo
I know it fits the Lokar throttle cable and standard choke and throttle cable.
(I have slipped over the standard choke and throttle lawn~mower type steel sprial housing a long piece of 1/4'' heat~shrink to 'enclose' the inner steel rod). It fits over the inner cable and butts up against & over the outer housing, sealing the end, spray away.
I lubricate my cables once a year on the motorcycles so I'll add the AD to my yearly list of vehicles.
If you have driven thru standing water, use your bolt to lanch a boat... this is a good yearly maintainence tool to lubricate your every cable.
Footnote::: place a rag tightly against the inside brake drum @ the cable abutment, hook up the ''lubber'', you might need a rag @ the ''lubber'' end also, I use liquid white lithium spray and push the spray button until you hear the liquid grease come out the backing plate end, about 4-5 sec.,
you are good for a year.
