my 1952 Chevy 3100 has 5.60 - 15 tires. Was this also an official tire size ? I found 6.00 - 15 but not this one.

thanks for the answer. Yes, you are correct. 5.60 ist a tire for a 1957 Beetle. I saw it just at Coker Tires.
The max. load of these tires are also to low. Just 970 lbs per tire.

I think that 6.70x15" was the tire size for the optional 15" wheel on 3100s.

I have an original set on a 1954 3104 pickup in my garage. On 3100 Chevrolet Advance-Design trucks they were solid rims and on 1/2 ton GMC New Design trucks I think they were split rims. The spec guides I have don't list that option, but factory liturature trumps non-factory.
BTW, 215/75/15 is the modern equivalent to the 6.70-15.
