You would have to change carbs to use it. The conversion kits are funky. The throttle cable has a bracket under a carb cover screw. It comes down vertically & the core goes in the hole in the throttle rod with a retainer on the end.

I kept everything like the '46 was, except the engine. I got it with the 235 and it is good enough for me. It has real good compression too.

If its not working good its still better to fix it then to change carbs. Which carb is on it. Roch. model B or Carter W-1 or YF? I may have a bracket to hook up the throttle cable. George

I think this 235 is a 1957 model from a car. Was there one made with a manual choke? That would allow the correct carb for the engine and still let the manual choke and throttle work.

I found a Rochester B with a manual choke but when I try it the engine won't come up to full RPM.. Almost like it has a leak. I read a comment about one of those having a problem in the throttle shaft, but how do you tell a good one from a bad one?
