Hi,
and thanx for having us!
http://www.stovebolt.com/gallery/blosmanis_ted_1965.html

I would have said hello sooner but I blew a gasket(hospital)and was grinding gears and missing shifts almost all of December well into January. All good now, so........No more eat what ever, no more booze, no more smokes = MORE $$$$ FOR THE TRUCK!

I'm juorneyman sheet metal worker by trade for 21 years and can't count how many cars I have owned.

Last weekend I flashed up the truck,I got out a couple days before. It had sat for weeks and had been frozen, covered in over a foot of snow, etc and it started like I ran it yesterday.

We were not going to do anything to the truck till spring but while off work cabin truck fever took over. I took the mags off and found 4 6 bolt steel wheels and bout new Goodyear Wranglers, my now retired cago van donated it's beauty rings and early 90s GMC dog dishes. To us the truck looks so much better. In the close future I will be making a steel headache rack and getting a large job box.

While searching local wreakers for old dog dishes (no luck) I spoted out of the corner of my eye what turned out to be a 65 GMC 3/4 ton wreak. Bad crash and nothing left to salvage except mint tail lite trim, one GMC dog dish, and a era correct checker plate steel bumper. $100 and they were mine. I'll have the bumper repainted and on this week.

I'm still on the local hunt for old dog dishes and am hoping to meet up with a guy up island today that is supposed to have hundreds of hub caps. It's been fun searching for all this stuff, to bad all the wreakers out here have almost scraped all the old cars/truck now. All you see is the newer plastic cars/trucks...times change.

Todays plans are to put a block heater in, the ol' girl is a bit stubborn on frosty days.

I'm hopeing to get new pics up today and start a Photo Bucket album of my suttle changes.

But now I have to go, I just got a phone call about some dog dishes. Wish me luck!

Our Other Toys,

My first car,
bace model 67 Mercury Cougar. Rust free, been garaged since 87,

82 Celica GTS Coupe,
Wife's since 94, origonal paint, 8.5 out of 10 5 speed car.

85 Mustang rag top,
V6 auto, 95% origonal paint, who needs a new top on a car thats only driven in the summer? 7 out of 10 car.

My Sunday Drive, I won it.

Welcome Ted, looks like you got a keeper, actually two if you count your wife who seems to love the old truck as much as you. You are ahead of the game in getting your story and pictures up so soon. Great! BTW, I have visited Vancouver Island before to see my father in law who, at the time drove a '67 Chevy truck. We split a rim in our travels and had to see an auto wrecker in Ucluelet to fine a correct 6 bolt rim so we could carry on.

Thanx for the welcome guys. Did'nt get the block heater in but had a blast digging and digging for dog dishes. I found four, 3 rusty with no dents and 1 banged up but I should be able to hammer it out. And the best part they are 1965 correct, time for some glass beading.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile
