Rich - Benefits include less pollution and no oil drip in the driveway, at least not from the breather tube.

Has anyone put the PVC valve in? Please let us know what your experience was.

The instructions are to connect the PVC hose to the suction side of the intake (normally where the windsheild wiper vacuum comes from). Does the Offy aluminum 2X intake have a port for vacuum?

Yes, the Offenhauser does have a port. You can drill and tap another additional port so you can run the windshield wiper and use the PCV setup.

Edelbrocks have two vacuum ports.

I've got a couple of them and since I'm in the middle of a rebuild am planning on converting to the PCV set up. I've read that in addition to not polluting, or smoking as your are driving when the oil sucked out of the road draft tube burns on your exhaust, or dripping in your driveway, doing the conversion gets you a slight improvement in gas mileage.

If you go the PCV route put one of those in line.

it saves some gas and keeps the slug out of the engine. I was shocked when i cleaned the bowl the first time how much it was.

On my friend's 261 he put the valve in the breather, which has the exhaust tube removed. Vacuum runs off the intake tap, and around the front of the block.
