YOU ARE BIDDING ON AN H.E.I. DISTRIBUTOR NUMBER 1110715 FROM A '79 CHEVY 250 SIX INLINE SIX. IT IS IN VERY NICE, COMPLETE CONDITION. THE CENTRIFUGAL ADVANCE IS NOT WORN OUT OR SLOPPY, AND THE VACUUM ADVANCE WORKS FINE. IT'S EASY TO PUT ONE OF THESE IN A 1937-62 CHEVY OR 1939-59 GMC SIX; JUST GRIND OR MACHINE OFF THE LOCATING COLLAR ON THE ALUMINUM HOUSING AND USE A STOCK CLAMP-ON LOCKING DEVICE FROM A STOCK 216-235 DISTRIBUTOR.
Is that all thats required to convert this fairly common boneyard part to make a 235/261 run better and get better gas mileage?

I don't know that my milage improved but it did really put more pep in my 261. Try doing a search and go back far. There have been some posts about this that are really helpful. This is a mod. that is worth doing if you are not worried about staying stock. | | |

Also, a hei out of any gm straight six, except the new 4200, will work with the modification. I would check the local yards, around here you can buy them for $40-65. Core charge for a rebuild is $30. Giving you some info to go by.
