This is for daily use in construction trade. At this time I am happy with the performance of both tools. I am using the smaller 1.5ah batteries, they recharge in 15 minutes. They last 70-80% of my work day which consist of off and on usage, but not a constant (such as drywall install). Its nice to be able to drill pilot hole and then drive in screws w/out having to change bit since having the combo kit. I tried the Makita 10.8 first very briefly. I bought the 10.8 took it home drove a couple 4" screws and knew it was not enough for work, probably o.k. for home actually probably Great for home use, nice and light. Speaking of light it is a plus that they have led lights on the tools, very helpful. So at this time I do reccomend the makitas for my type of work.

Let me get this straight... How do you drill a hole and drive a screw with a single bit/tool? More info please. | | | | Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 4,168 "Hey! I sound like Darth Vader!! | "Hey! A flip bit goes in the business end. One side has a drill ( with countersink ) and the other side has a phillips tip. You drill your hole, pull back the collar to release the bit, flip it, and now you have a driver. I have had good luck with my 18V DeWalt drill driver. Its always good to go with the leading brands. | | | | Joined: Sep 2007 Posts: 2,644 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2007 Posts: 2,644 | That's cool... never saw one of those before. They have excellent torque and last a long time even in cold weather. I used to get only Milwaukee but they are overpriced compared to deWalt. | | |
