For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Nov 2008 Posts: 293 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2008 Posts: 293 | On the 60's Suburbans, they seem to be notorious for rusting the Roof along the Drip Rails on the back half of the vehicle. Does this come from the outside, or is there a moisture issue along this ridge that comes from the inside out? Thank you for your help. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 2,384 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 2,384 | Seems a double edge sword on mone-the roof caulk dries out & cracks allowing water in, also it sweats on the inside & runs to the same area-toss in bare metal & spot welds & it is guranteed to rust. Mine is just surface rusty, some pits. I have treated inside with a rust converter paint(POR-15) & have thought about filling it with something. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 5,152 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 5,152 | Not just the 60's, the 40's and 50's have the same problem.
