I know this has been discussed before, but I can't find it with the search feature. On a 49 Chevy, what color are the pine boards supposed to be? Black? What about the metal strips? body color? Paint wood body color too?

check this thread in the makin a bed forum ... lots of opinions, likely black and the skids will be the same as the boards, it was all painted after assembly

The 1949 bed boards were black and the metal strips between the boards were black. The metal angle strips at the edge of the bed-side were body color.
