The top hoop springs are too weak and when I sit in the truck its like I'm siting in a hole. I'm looking for a source for replacement springs. The upholstery shop does not have a source and LMC Trucks only sells partial repair springs not the hoop portion that you sit on. Another way to go is to put a spring unit like the mid 80 chevy truck seat frames had. It is a wire unit with little coil springs in the back for give. Then put a thick foam unit on top. It tapers from about 5" in the back to around 6" in the front. Did you have to modify the parts to fit the 60's seat? I don't mind changing the spring style, just want to be sure of want I'm getting into. I already had the seat re-upholstered for $300 and the change may take some effort and more money. thanks for the info... That seat looks nice. The parts Im talking about can be bought new. The spring is called flex-o-lators comes in different widths.Then you put little coils in back. You need to do alot of drilling on frame. Then the foam can be cut to fit your seat. With your seat being already upholstered I would do as you originally stated try to find the original springs. Just asking did you do a AuVeCo search. They used to have them. Good luck in your search. Seen them on Ebay one time. Again nice looking seat. If you don't find any new springs and yours are not broken. I weave upholstery webbing from side to side and hog ring to edge wire. Try to run as many pieces (4 to 5) side by side as you can. It makes seat work as a unit . You will have to remove bottom seat upholstery to do this !
