The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Engine Shop split exhaust manifold with a COE intake setup

I have a '62 Dubl-Duti (package delivery) that uses the COE low clearance manifold and Carter 817 updraft carb setup. I'd like to squeeze some power from this thing without doing anything internally and I know the split exhaust is a fairly common bolt on but after a bit of searching, I still don't know whether or not they will work with my COE intake manifold. Has anyone made this work and if so what are/is the design(s) I should be looking for. I'd prefer not to modify the original for now. I'll modify if I have to but I prefer a better design to begin with.

Speaking of COE, does anyone know if my manifold/carb setup has any sort of change in the power band compared to the conventional setup? Afterall, this WAS used on the COE.. all those trucks did was haul stuff.

My understanding is that this service is no longer available so you'll have to do it yourself. Call around locally and check availability for a 2" heavy wall(schedule 80)carbon steel long radius 90 degree buttweld elbow like on this page:

Then shape it with no gaps according to your own design.
