There's an accessory I'm curious about on my dads truck. It's in the cigarette lighter hole, is a lighter, but out on the end it has a light bulb, switch for the bulb, and a partial cover over the bulb. It's not in LMC or other parts catalogs. Is it 1971 original, cigar lighter, special accessory, or what? Any help would be appreciated. thanks

That's more than likely a map light. It was partly shielded so the passenger could read the map and not blind the driver.

I have seen stainless steel cigarette lighter chart lights for boats are you sure it is not something he just picked up?

Ohhh, that's it! Good job RT1! so maybe he just picked it up sometime to put in the lighter hole. is it 1971 dated? or a later doodad? THANKS! I'll get a new bulb for it if it's 1971, other wise, I'll probably pull it out and put in a lighter from 1971. Yes, the light is sheilded. You guys are good!
