I bought a rebuilt fuel pump/vac pump. I hooked it up and my wipers did not work at all, where they used to work unless I was accelerating. Also, I started burning the oil that was sucked into my intake manifold.

I hooked it up as someone told me. I don't think it is right.

Vac side of the pump goes to the wiper. Outlet side goes to the intake manifold. It splashes oil around and it gets sucked into the intake. Blue clouds at the stop signs! Please help me with a diagram of how it should be. Thanks - Scott

Scott,

Try the outside port to the wipers and the other port to the intake manifold vacuum fitting.

If you are still sucking oil, you might have a damaged diaphragm in the pump.

if it is sucking oil from the fuel pump the pump is bad and could possibly be dumping fuel into the oil.

Thanks for both your replies. I called Arizona Vintage where I got the fuel/vac pump. They said that occasionally an oil seal not a diaphram goes. They stood behind it and I sent it back to be replaced. - Scott
