The last two pics show my engine with .....you've guessed it POR Chevy Orange!

It also shows the headers done with POR manifold paint.
Obviously I haven't been using the truck so I cannot vouch for it's durability but it covers extremely well and cures to a nice gloss,even when brushed on.
1 pint is more than enough for a small block,maybe even enough for a second coat. Given the fact that I have done this 'in situ' it turned out really well.

I have been using POR paints throughout my 'build' and so far have been pleased with the results!

very nice jock,is that the stainless manifold paint?had pretty much made up my mind to use the paint just curious as how much.who makes the headers.they look nice and short.so far the only thing i know for sure that will fit my truck with the pacer rack is the stock manifolds.thanks for your input.............dave

Yup painted my 235 with POr engine enamel..To make the aluminum pop more, I went with black this time around..somewhat unusual..but that's me..I used a gun..Very pleased with it. Should be some pics at my site..

looks nice keith,i'm pretty much leanin towards black myself.i got some shiny stuff for it.a nice pair of billet valve covers.but i'm actually looking for the "right "set of stamped steel valve covers to paint or have powdercoated flat black and them have them pinstriped.hope it will look as nice as i visualize it.did you use a primer under the por engine paint or just degrease and paint.mine has been hot tanked and sprayed with new cast to keep from rusting.thought maybe just wiping down with marine clean and painting..............dave

Yes David, That's the POR Stainless header paint. I had the headers blasted before applying it to give a better 'key' for the paint.
As far as the origins of them I'm not sure....they came with the engine. It was a cut-out from an '81 C3 Corvette.(Junkyard,no P.O.!) I guess I was just lucky they fit.
The steering will be a little tight and as a result I'll need to use 3 U.J.'s and a support bearing.
Not a huge problem,just more $$$$!
