The casting number says 3836233 which from one source says its 1953 235ci, yet this has a two studs valve cover? I was told it was a 1951 and original. (as well as it ran when it parked)

No vin plate anywhere that I've found.

Stamped on the rad was R-11 A and 53 C and Harison 3128515

What is the block serial number stamped on the pad behind the distributor?

One of the Inliners' casting # links for heads and blocks says that 3836233 is a 1955 Powerglide 235 block. If so, it would be a full-pressure engine with hydraulic lifters. It will be interesting to see which head you have.

By the way, the 1953 passenger car 235s still had the 2-stud valve covers.

I have link to webshots with just 30 photos in the album, please look at them if it could help you help me.

Seems we have many parts from different years?

We're told it was a 51. I have no title, and no id plate on the door pillar.

Motor number casting between Dist and f. Pump 3836233. Inliners.com indicated it was a 1955 Second 235 ci.? A reply from another thread mentions it was a 1955 235 Powerglide out of a car possibly. Serial Number stamped into pad behind ditributor says 030896IT55Z.

Yet it has a 216 two bolt valve cover? Serial number on drivers side of head says 3835913 GM 2

Carb appears to be a GM B model? Brass tag says 7020103 and B2b or is it B28?

On the drivers side of the manual tranny it says. CONV 5, GM 1, H39, 591665

The rad says r-11a, 53C, Harison 3128515.

The dif says on the pass side, LU 3 20, and 16 on the drivers side.

If you could eyeball my pics, just in case I'm not pulling numbers from the wrong spots....

Thanks for what help you can give...

The "55Z" at the end of the serial no. tells us it's a '55 235, solid lifter, 123 HP motor. The powerglide motors had a "Y" at the end of the serial no. The head no. is also '54-'55 and as such would have the 4-screw valve cover set-up. As has been said before, someone could have modified this to the 2-bolt style to make the engine look more original.
