I think that's what it's called. The two vertical pieces on the corners of the bed. My big master plan was to buy a new bed..but mine is rebuildable and the difference in $$$ is just too great. A lot more elbow grease..but that's the spirit of the back yard restorer.

My concern about saving the rusty pockets is one of rust between the pocket and the bed side...likely will show up again after the bed is painted. This is a 69 GMC bed..same box as the'55 only 8" longer than the 55 long box. This gives me an opportunity to just cut 8" off the back taking the stake pockets with it..a lot easier than drilling spot welds.

I know I have seen these for sale in the past..I of course looked at Mar-k first don't see them there. Anyone know of a source?

Thanks,

Keith

We manufacture the stake pockets but they are not on the online catalog. Call our sales office or email if you want to order.

There is a difference between the stake pocket on a 69 and a 55 bed. The 69 will have extra holes for the 69 style tail light bracket. When you compare them closely, you can see they were probably made on different tooling but they will interchange. If you are putting the 69 stake pocket on a 55, it probably won't matter if you don't mind the extra holes, but if you are putting a 55 pocket on a 69, you will need the holes for mounting the stock tail light bracket.

Well actually I had rears ordered already. When they came they had your p/n's on them-so indirectly I bought from you..too bad could have saved $5.00 each. Excellent sheet metal part..nicely detailed.
