Are parking lamp fender holes the same from the 1947-1950 GMC era and the 1951-1953 GMC era? I need to know because I have two front fenders from 1953 that on which I would like to place the earlier, smaller, parking lamps. If the holes and the bolt connection holes are the same then I can move forward with this work.

Are you talking about GMC fenders?

Yes, this is only for fenders from a GMC from the later era.

I used the later model Chevy truck lights as they are very similar and the new ones come with dual filament bulb sockets. This is a fairly common substitution.

sambear,

I think the GMC holes for the round parking lamps are different in different years, but I dot know when they changed. This topic and photos have been posted on the oldGMCtrucks.com website and discussion boards.

An Advance Design truck is a Chevrolet. A GMC of the same era is a New Design.

Never knew GMC's from 1947.2 to 1955.1 were 'New Design'.

I am buying two 1949 parking lamp sets, so I hope to find a fender template to do the correct cutting.
