I have a MustangII setup on the front, with the traditional
5 x 4.75 stud pattern.
I think the 4x4 rear has a metric bolt pattern. Will I have to run two different sets of wheels? Or will the 4x4 wheels work on the front also? I beleive the front studs are 7/16 diameter.
Sometimes this mixing old and new makes me a little crazy !!

The 4X4 Blazer and 4X4 Pickup rears are 5 inches wider than the 2X rears and fit nicely under AD trucks (47-54).

| | | | | Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 | Yes, the studs are 12 x 1.50 metric, actually very common on late GM passenger cars, they are the same regardless of 2wd or 4x4, although some early 2wds w/steel wheels had 7/16" studs. Those were using the same parts as the GM G body for brakes/axles. Bolt circle is the same. As to wheel interchange; you can put a 2wd wheel on the 4x4 axle, but not the other way around.

| | | | | Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 | It's not the stud size that causes the fit issue, but rather the backspacing of the wheel itself. The 2wd wheel uses a std GM rear drive backspace, the 4x4 uses a FWD type backspace, due to the wider track width of the axles. The reason for the extra width has to do with the independant front suspension used on them. You will be fine using the same wheel front and rear. One suggestion, if you want to keep the same nuts all around, have the flaps cross referrence the stud knurl to the same thread pitch that you have on the front. If you have to err on this, err to slightly larger knurl size, then simply install the new studs. That way, you won't have to have a mis-matched set of lugnuts.
