Hello again""" I need to know what these spring clips Ya'll are talking about putting on the door latch to help make the doors close tighter?? It's driving me nuts with the rattleing. Anyone have a picture of one installed that you could post? otherwise I am going to buy new latches and stricker plates..Thanks Ag-pilot

I would advise going ahead and buying new latches and striker plates. When I bought my truck, it had the spring clips, but the doors still rattled! Have you checked to see if you have excess play in your door hinges. To check, open your door about 2 ft. and lift the end of the door up and down. If there is play, you will also need to rebuild the door hinges. Restoring the doors is expensive and time consuming, but once it is done, you don't have to worry about them for another 50 + years!

Good luck

Denny

I don't agree, replacing everything will cost close to $100 while two of the clips will set you back about $3.50 total. Worth a try isn't it?

Go look at any Chevy Duty catalog page 17. Door latch repair clip, there is a picture in there. The clips and a strike plate adjustments fixed my rattling door problems. Look at your door, see the only moving part, it goes over that tumbler and makes it look like it's original shape.

If it doesn't completely fix your problem, buy the latches and strikes then.
