I want to run the wide belt on my 42 1/2 ton with a 57 6 cyl. engine but the waterpump pully is much smaller in diameter. Will I have a problem with cooling. I have all the stuff to run either belt but I want to try to keep the enging looking as original as possible.

The half inch belt (smaller) will work just fine. The balancer and water pump on the 57 will have the narrower pulleys. If you are using your old generator, you can swap out the pulley on it. Confused about the pulley diameter being smaller. Which pulley? If it's the water pump, you should put on a larger pulley.

:confused: You said you want to run a wide belt........all pulleys will have to compatiable for the size belt. by this I mean witdth.
You then mention a pulley is smaller in diameter. Diameter has nothing to do with width.
So I am confused as to what you are asking?
If you could explain again we may be able to help you out cool
