WELL I had a B-I-N-G-O when Todd M responded with a 53 sedan and powerglide on my last post, but it didn't pay off. So there was a 53/54 with this peculiar early side mount.
My question is where can I obtain a pair??? If you reply tell me the source and the PART number.
Or, Your best "Rube Goldberg" engineered solution.

Exactly what is it you are looking for? I have a 261 block that has a pair of front mounting brackets on either side of the block at the very front. Is that what you are talking about?

Gregg; it seems the 53/54 powerglide sedan 235 had a unique, so I been told, side motor mount bolt arrangement. It differs from the later 235 six cylinder 235's and V8s.
I would like a set of side MOTOR MOUNTS for the 54 sedan 235. Hot Rod Lincoln showed a 261 with side mounts with only 2 holes. This 235 has a triangular bolt pattern.

I have the side brackets from a '58 if you can u se them. Not sure if they are the same.

My 261 has a 3-hole mount setup, but it's upside down to the other engine that got pictured. If I were in your situation, I'd probably fabricate mounting plates to bolt to the sides of the engine from 1/4" plate, or something similar, and use a donut-type rubber mount to brackets attached to the frame rails. With some flat plate, square tubing, and a little cutting and welding, nothing much is impossible. That's how we build our round track race cars. Under the sheet metal, virtually nothing is original!

Thanks Hot Rod. I have been flirting with the angle Iron arrangement but was hoping for a more, eye candy, solution.
I think I can now get started. I also talked to Buffalo on the Trans adapter, time to apply the elbow grease and knock off the jawbone. Appreciate your feed back.

Marc; I don't think they are the same, Thanks for the offer. When I pulled my head out Patricks Catalog shows a close up of the early type 235 mount. Sorry for the bother.

I have a pair of the brackets that go on the engine if that will help. They fit 1952-54 You can see what they look like at, http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/1929_54chevyparts/files/cmp096.gif

That's exactly what I had in mind when I mentioned fabricating mount brackets! The engine bracket can be made by using angle iron with gussets front and rear, and the frame brackets use square or rectangular tubing shaped to accept the rubber mounts. When you're done, it would take a real pro to see the difference from a factory mount.
