I have even seen the term delux used. I have a up defroster and down floor adjusdment on my heater box. I also have a small swithch on the lower dash under the headlight switch. It is not connected but leads to the heater. I thinking it controls the fan. Was there an adjustment for temp? I would like to get it going again just trying to figure how it was set up and how do I tell the difference.
| | | | | Joined: Oct 2004 Posts: 1,781 Master Gabster | | Master Gabster Joined: Oct 2004 Posts: 1,781 | The fresh air heater (made by Harrison) was an option and attaches to the right side cowl and takes in outside air through the louvers. It has a motor protruding through the firewall and has a defrost control rod attached to the underside of your dash. There is also a heat control valve that is connected to two heater hoses under the hood. The blower motor is controlled by a switch that is attached near the defroster/heat control rod.
The other heaters are stand alone types, sometimes round or square and hang underneath the dash. They can also be fitted with a defroster motor and vent. (I think that this is the type that you have by your description) | | | | | Joined: May 2008 Posts: 1 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: May 2008 Posts: 1 | Hi, My Harrison heater is a 47' fresh air which does mount on the right side of the cab under the dash on the passenger side kick panel, however it's in a 51' Chevy Deluxe cab which does'nt have louvers. I bought the heater on e-bay & unfortunately it was canabalized, it does'nt have it's original motor, mines from a 68' chevy 1/2 ton. This is o.k. & they only cost $19.99 to replace new!! My problem is I do'nt know how to put it back together... Does anyone know where I can find a cut-away, diagram or schematic for ol' Harrison fresh air heaters?
