| | | | Joined: Apr 2006 Posts: 136 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2006 Posts: 136 | The stainless windshield trim clips for the deluxe trim on my '58 burb are original, and measure 1 1/2". I thought I would order new clips from Jim Carter when installing the new windshield. When they arrived, the clips measure 13/16". I called Jim Carter to find out why the clips were more than 1/2" short, since the gap might expand or shrink with new weatherstrip.
Jim Carter personally called me back to discuss the issue and went and measured his own original clips which were the same length as mine. He gave me the name of his supplier, Mar-K, and I called them to find out if I could obtain the proper length clip.
Mar-K sells the clips for $1.00 each, and four are required. Mar-K quoted me a price of $5.00 per clip plus a shipping and handling charge of $8.95, for a total of $28.95 for four, 1 1/2" clips. What a rip-off!! Maybe they will sell me a hacksaw blade for $25.00 so I can cut my own.

He is an extremely honesy Guy and will get after his supplier. I have always found them very helpful. If you can not get satisfaction, I would not use the short ones I would wait for some on Ebay.

Jim Carter is a true gentleman, and took this problem seriously, calling several times. I told the people at Mar-K I would not be extorted, but they didn't seem to care.
