Here's my new problem I ordered a vacumm advance for my distributor, but it's not the same, doesn't even come close, yet the one I ordered say's from 1948 to 1962 what gives, did this guy also change the distributor? I have a feeling I fell in love and bought a 1950 pickup, thats made up of parts from 10 different years.
I now know how to change the valve covers, thanks to you guys....
Something to laugh about "My wife say's "stop trying to be a mechanic Jorge! and stick to police work, but I'll never give up I love this truck! | | |

From whom did you buy the vacuum advance? What is the part number?
I do not know much about 48-54 cars but I am pretty certain that the vacuum advance are different for cars and trucks (at least the advance I have on a car distributor has a different angle off the block from all the 235/261 truck vacuum advances that I have seen).
Any chance of posting a photo?
