I have a Rochester carb with a tag on it that is labeled 7013029. Can anyone tell me which carb this is and if it will be sufficient for a 261?

The web page TheCarburetorshp.com lists it as a Rochester "B" originally being on a 235. I'm curious if anyone has run this on a 261 and how well it worked.

There is a SIGNIFICANT venturi difference between the 261 and 235 carburetors; I wouldn't use it on a 261.

My carb man says that this particular carb will work fin on the 261. Does anyone have any experience with this particular carb?

It will work fine, as long as you don't mind 216 power, and 396 fuel mileage.
