When I raise the dump bed on my 3800 to the highest point the diverter valve gets stuck and have to pry it open with force to get it running again, I think it is over filled but at it highest point it only has 1 inch of fluid in the box, so I need to know if there are fluid levels ( one needs to check on the pump which drives the ram to lift the bed? All I am able to see is a breather cap on top of this box-like thing that the PTO is connected to.This device is about a 1 square foot cube, with a small diverter valve on the top of it which has the hydraulic lines(2) and the valve for raising and lowering the bed. I filled mine a little at a time. Raise it up - fill a little, lower it down and make sure it doesn't run over and repeat till it stops cavitating when it gets to the top of stroke.

I have a newer dump truck that I made the mistake of over filling once while it was raised. When it was lowered . . . whooosh . . . BOOOM! The screw on breather cap blew apart and I had hydraulic oil everywhere under the truck! :o

Don't over fill - the results can be messy!
