Does anyone know what size tire was offered on a 1972 K20 with the 16.5"x8" rim? A width of 8" seems wide for 1972 which makes me curious of the size tire that came on this rim from the factory. Thanks for the help.

There was 8.00x16.5, 8.75x16.5, & 9.50x 16.5. It probably came with 8.75. The 8.00 are skinny things. The 9.50 are a nice oversize if you want some big tires. I wouldn,t have any 16.5s. I would get some 16 in wheels.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.

I've actually got a set of both. Currently I've got 16x6.5 or 7's on it with 235/85's on it. They just look kind of wimpy. I like the looks of the deeper 16.5 x 8" wheels with the dog dish hub caps. They look neat and are kind of unique. I suppose they are mainly unique because hardly anyone makes 16.5" tires anymore. Thanks for the response.
