Hi, I have a 66 Chevy C-10 I've owned since my wife & I were in High School. After 42 yrs of more good times than I ever deserved, I have started a "drive it as you update it" over haul to the drive train. "Black & Blue" has 283 with 3 on the tree. I have purchased a 85 T-5 to help me enjoy highway cruising. It has a 4:11 ring & pinion. Has anyone accomplished this swap & care to share their story with a Old Gear head, long in the tooth, but willing to learn. So many of my old high school buddies have offered to help, in our day we cut a pretty wide path & have managed to stay close for over 50 yrs. Now we are helpless to save our friends, but we can fix our rides. Any & all assistance will be welcomed.

Be well, do good work & stay in touch

hrvetteman, there is a subject on that in the tech tips section and also on a site called inliners.com. Also, have you looked up in the past forums? you could type in "T5" or "transmission swap" in the search block and hit enter and you should see all topics about it. hope this helps

Louie is right. There has been a lot of info on this website about this. A lot of fellow bolters have done it. I have done 2 of them. Get as much info as you can & post questions on what you don,t understand.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.
