I have seen many 4,6,& 8 cylinder chevy engines with stock "o" ring style valve seals that do not use any oil.
I have seen many umbrella seals that have cracked over time and use oil and p/c seals that have led to oil starved valve seizing.
I am wondering why anyone would use anything but the stock “o” ring style seals on chevs. If installed correctly they seldom fail.

I just had to install the umbrellas on my fresh 235 to stop the motor from sucking oil past the guides. And the valves and guides are fairly new, only about 12K miles on them. But I have heard of the plastic seals causing oil starvation...
your results may vary.
