I haven't checked into it yet, but I wonder if a set of mounts/biscuits from a '55-'57 Chevy station wagon would do it? They're readily available, and I can see Chevrolet carrying something like over from other models/years. Shoot, they used '56-spec 322 Buick Nailhead engines in their bigger trucks through '59, and our Deluxe steering wheels were Bel Air wheels, weren't they? And after buying a '60-'61 V8 van shroud, I'm very certain they're the same as '58-up passenger car shrouds.

Hey D.
The moldings are GOING to work out great! I haven't done any of the body work on the truck yet...all mechanical stuff so far. Just did an overdrive trans swap, had the shifter rebuilt by Hurst, and smoked the ring and pinion gear on a road trip down to Florida. Next up on the list is a front suspension rebuild, brake job and rear end rebuild. But within the year, I should be going on the body, and those moldings are really going to fit nicely.
Thanks for taking such good care of shipping them too!

Don,

What did you figure out for the body mount rubbers? I'm there myself. interested in knowing what you used.

Thanks,
Mark

I bought new rubber from McMaster-Carr, spent about $85 on enough to do all the mounts, seems like it was 5/8" thick?maybe 3/4"? -- it was the correct width, I just had to cut each piece to length. I cut the metal plates off the old mounts using a razor blade & re-used them w/the new rubber. Used a hole saw to drill the hole thru the middle & simply sandwiched the new rubber between the OE plates.

got rubber and the metal tubes....gotta find some plates though...also you have to put something the thickness of the hole in the frame, onto the tubes otherwise mount wont stay centered on the hole....probably a piece of fuel line???
