I got everything installed but I still have a solid bearing/bushing that I cannot find in my maintenance manual. It is approximately 1/2" thick and has the inner diameter that appears to be appropriate for the transmission shaft. It would appear that it goes on the end of the transmission shaft where it enters the block recess however, 1. I already have a roller bearing that fits in the crank shaft recess, 2. the crank shaft recess is tapered and the bearing/bushing does not seem to fit in there (it is much smaller than the opening.
Can anyone please tell me what this thing is for? I am assuming that this clutch fits several engines and it may be for one of the other applications. I would appreciate it if someone could confirm this for me.

It supports the nose of tranny input shaft just ahead of the clutch disc & helps keep everything lined up.

According to the maintenance manual, this is the bearing that they show. All I could think was that maybe the bushing goes in front of the bearing as additional support? That just does not seem right since the Drive shaft has a beveled recess that this bearing does not really fit in. It has very little, only the corner of the cylinder, touching the beveled recess.

Just hang onto it for a spare. The clutch kit assumes your old one has a million miles on it and is going to be replaced along with the clutch/pressure plate.
