I'm curious what a good price for a Saginaw 4 speed is. I have an opportunity to get one and don't want to be taken. I'm told it came out of a 1977 Corvette. What is one in good condition worth?

Thanks in advance for your replys.

Saginaw 4 speeds were out of production by 1977, and Vettes never used them anyway. They were used in Vegas, Camaros, Chevelles etc, usually behind L6 motors but with some small V8s too. Get a catalog from Patrick\'s - it has all the ID info on finding the right Saginaw. The going price for a decent Sag 4-speed in these parts is about $150 tops.

Jack is right. About $150 is one you can get one for in any scrapyard here in Georgia. Less if you go to a "Pull-A-Part".

They're on Ebay all the time. I bought one and spent about $160 shipping and all.

Thanks guys for the replies. That was about what I thought, but just wanted some expert opinions. I just recently got the Patrick's catalog. I'm considering his shifter when I put this transmission in my truck.

Thanks again for the responses!

I paid about $100 for mine out of a local yard. Had to pull it myself out from underneath a Vega. I just installed it last weekend and it was a breeze, slid right into place behind the 235. Still need to have my driveshaft shortened and I have not ordered the shifter from Patrick's yet, but that is coming. Good luck.
