Jim G’s SLURP Project – Posting 13: Preview - Red’s new intake!

This posting is one in a series. If you have not yet read the earlier postings in the series, you’ll need to, as this posting won’t make much sense without having done so! Just do a search using the word “SLURP”.

The pace is quickening!

In my last posting, I described how Randy and I yanked 219 pounds out of Red last weekend.

In this posting, I am simply going to post ONE photo, as a teaser, with no text – a “preview” of things to come!

Wow! That's really pretty! I'll bet that unit cost a pretty penny. I'll bet a lot of Bolters would like to have the money that thing cost. That money would go a long way toward getting a truck on the road. Does all that chrome add functionality?

Hey guys, take it easy on him. I'm waiting to see what kind of trailer he's going to build for it!

It's normally pretty costly, but I found a pretty neat deal on one. It's not actually chrome - it's "Endurashine", a powder coat finish that Edelbrock offers that looks sensational and is easy to kep clean.

Does it add functionality? You bet! It turns out that carbureted LS engines run stronger than injected ones. No kidding. Even GM agrees. I will be posting on that soon.

The drivetrain on Red is going to be a real centerpiece.

he should call it the SNORE project because thats what I feel like doing a few sentences into one of jim's posts. I say just build the darn thing instead of analyzing every nuance of it's construction. in the end it will not be "the ultimate stovebolt" anymore than anyone else's truck on this board.

it's not a brick, it's cruise control.

I ahve found that when you just build it without analyzing every nuance you get exactly the unexpected and disappointing results that merits. smile
