I have a 49 5 window I am ready to paint the doors and inside the cab. What is the correct color for the door frames on the door and the cab? Is it the same as the door itself? Is the door frame same as the inside color? Thanks

Outside color goes to the point where the outside skin ends in the door frame, then all the interior is the same color, except for the radio/glove box grille. The original color is commonly called "champagne" by most, hard to describe, get it from a vendor, I like the stuff from chevy duty (their name has changed, and I cannot remember the new name)

The steering column and heater are different colors... and by the time this thread is done there will be another couple hundred more suggestions, rumors and facts thrown in with lots of chit-chat. grin

Thanks I have the interior color "Champagne" If I understane you correctly the interior color will include the inside door frame just below the bottom of the floor and before the running board. The interior color would be around the doors up to the outside color of the truck.

Thanks

Hi 49chevyman
I also have a 49 chevy pickup and asked the same questions back in December 07.. Thought you might be interested in what we had to say on this subject. The forum was started by fellow bolter, czechman 12-18-07,followed by informative discussions by 65 panelmike, adpickup, and info from tcledderman. Mostly about interior vintage paint codes. This informative forum resulted in a Dupont paint code called "GRAPHIC BROWN METALLIC" Dupont jobber
code 27467. The back of my radio delete plate still had good paint so I cleaned it up and once the Dupont color was mixed up it was a dead ringer. It has a grayish champagne with hints of brown. I was very pleased with this color hope this will help.
