My wife loves our 54 (her year of birth)/3100 called Emma(OK, its a girls thing) being a banker and a whiz with numbers she has a "numbers" question(s)...How many 1954 3100 PU's where produced and what is an estimate of how many are still running around? I'm sure one of you have the answers for her...Thanks and T/C Steve

292,202 total Chevrolet trucks built in 1954. I think that someone posted small/medium-duty (1/2 ton through 1 ton) truck productions numbers and large truck production numbers for Advance-Design years, but I have never see a break-down by models for any Advance-Design year.

I also am a woman who has a '54 3100 pickup and just picked the name "Emma" for her too!!! Mine is named after Emma Peel of the Avengers TV show...I guess that proves its a "girl thing"!

YEP....and we are all happy that it is, for when Mama ain't happy ain't no body happy! She named the truck Emma because she said that's the name that fits the truck just right! Gotta love those girl things! T/C Steve

So, girls! Seeing as all these Emmas are chick trucks, do they have automatics in 'em, too? <covers head, cringes>

No, really. I'm interested, in a clinical way.

My wife also named our '46!! (her birth year). The truck is a SHE named "Lucille" and SHE is a good ole 3-speed!! Named her Lucille because shes a redhead!! Of course my wife doesn't know how to drive her....but I SURE DO!!! BTW, isn't it normal to talk about your truck like; "She's a beauty!"...or..."She's running really good!"...or..."She's getting a tune-up!"?? I wouldn't want to call my truck "Bob" or "Bill"...what say you?? grin

I guess it depends on what the truck's character is? Now I don't think you'd want to call a lady truck something inappropriate when it hurts you when you're working on it, would you!

My wife named my truck Jezebel since I was spending more time under the truck than her when I first got it.

My "Emma" has a three on the tree, and I DO know how to drive her...including quickly learning at what point going around a corner it was time to grab the driver's door before it swings open!

I loved showing the truck to the 20-30 year old guys at work who had never seen a starter on the floor before...or a manual choke....

Both my '54 and Gabriela's '54 are 4 speeds & both have boys names- Jack (after our dog) and Neeshka (for her cat).

It's nice to see there are a few more girls around grin
