on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 15 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 15 | I recently purchased a 1941 Chevy 3/4 ton pickup, it's in good original condition (6-volt) and runs. I want a truck I can drive more often than in local parades, and I now realize the limits the 6-volt, 216 with 4-speed (non-syncro) transmission. I would like to swap out the engine and tranny to something that is still classical (carb) but more modern. I've heard that the Chevy T-5 transmissions will mount up to a 235 and 264?

With two (2) 2bbl Carter Webers on a Offy intake w/ Fenton Headers/ dual exhaust it is a fine running truck. I did convert the rear axle to one from a '70 Nova. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,115 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,115 | Are you relly going to do these modifications so you can drive it in local parades? Most parades I have seen are conducted at walking speed! | | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 37 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 37 | I would be interested in the 216 and tranny when you swap.
