I'm not sure I have the correct breather on my truck - a 1954 235 engine. It's the tall oil bath breather (about 8 inches tall).....however, all the pictures I have seen show a breather that is a little more like a pancake - say, 3-4 inches in height. I'm not set up to use photos yet (need to get on it), can anyone help? What does the correct breather look like for these old engines.

I have 55 2nd with the same breather. The oil bath breather was a option for trucks used in dusty invironments I.E. gravel roads. the other is a top and bottom cover over a inner and outer screen filled with a steel wool type filter that was soaked in oil. Hope this helps. This info is in the shop manual I belive, look on old online manuals on the net.
