I have a line on a '38 cab and am wondering if it will drop onto a '41-'46 frame. Same mounts? I am entering uncharted waters with this project. Thanks in advance! Matt

Get yer tape measure out, measure the cab mounts, measure yer frame mounts...if the frame is too wide won't work, but if cab is wider than frame, should work ok, even if ya have to build mounts...

mdogg, I'm putting a 37 cab on a 40 chassis. I set the cab on the frame and mocked up the radiator support just to see. The front two cab mounts line up perfectly, the back two mounting holes are off by approx. 1 1/2". No problem, just drill four new holes. Apparantly the 37-38 cab is a little shorter, but it fits fine from the firewall forward including the rad. support. Iwould think the 41-46 frame would be the same. Jeff

The difference between the 39/40 frame and the 41/46 frame is the holes for the cab mounts. The cab is set back 1 1/2 inches on the 41/46 because of the extra bump out on the firewall. You will just have to drill the holes. I’m not sure about the total frame length. You will also need the front spring mounts to be completely correct, the springs and shackles are the same but the front mounts are different. The 41/46 nose extends out further and covers the bumper / shackle mount. They are just riveted in so it’s not a hard swap.
