I'm trying to identify the year and disp. of the engine in my truck. I know it"s not origional as the truck was a six and is now a V8. I'm just not sure what it's out of. The engine code is TO623 CRX and the head casting numbers ane 333882, but these could also not be the correct heads for this block. This truck has been thru several owners and was originaly a Pa. dept of transportation truck.

I know this is not the correct group for a question about an 84 Chevy stepside, but it seems to be a nice group of people.
Thanks, John

the crx comes up as a 350 or a 305
heads are 1970-1980 350,400 1.94intake-1.5 exhaust 76 cc
if you can get the casting # off the block from behind the distributor i can tell you more about the block

I appreciate the quick response to the question. I'll take a look tomorrow after work. Perhaps I'll be able to see it with a mirror.I just got this truck and am still trying to get a handle on exactly what I've got. I've been looking for a stepside project for about a year now.
Thanks, John

I took a look today with a mirror. The castining number apears to be 4100793 or could be 4100783.
Thanks, John
