These look non-standard for the delux treatment on the series, the original chrome treatment called for both front and rear fender chrome packages and the chrome strips were thinner in design...so you would be adding non original peices, but more importantly you may have to drill into the virgin metal of your truck.

These stainless steel (not chrome) pieces were sold in a 14-piece set as an option from the factory for Panel Trucks. The set was also available as a parts-set from GM and could have then been installed on any 1/2 ton to 1 ton truck (they might have also fit OK on the fenders of larger trucks).
In case you are interested, maybe someone else will know how well the rear fenders strips fit on non-Panel-Body trucks.
I've been looking for fender mouldings for my 54 3100 for some time and this is the first that I've seen them. Does anyone know of repro's that are available?
Repros arent being made of those. I have them on my 54 panel, check it out in the gallery. I also have another "spare" set with extra misc. ones. Just in case anyone ever runs a stopsign,or I back into something.
I looked into it once quite a few years back. Each piece is different in curvature and length, etc. Not sure if i was talking to exactly the right people but they said the tooling and die setup costs would be enormous, and then all the polishing, etc. But im sure once someone got past all the initial costs it'd be a money maker. Youd prolly have to have it all done overseas,,and thats another whole different deal.
I bought a 1948 panel truck that came with what I assume are original trim pieces (stainless). The pieces appear to be specific to each fender and each position on that fender, so it would be very labor intensive to make a complete set. I was wondering if the fender spears are specific or interchangeable? I am missing the driver's side and the spears seem to be just as hard to find. Dave
