Is there any gm rear end i need to look for. I would like to stay with the narrow(cab and chassis) rear end. Please Help!!! | | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,878 . | | . What is the plan with the truck, what will you do with it?
You may look at some E350 full floating Dana 60 rear axles, but I think they will be wider than what you have.

Here's what I did on my '55.2 3/4 ton. I used the springs and hangers from a '77 3/4 ton and simply bolted the hangers to the frame and then bolted in the later rear end. The springs on the later rear end are actually closer together than on the older trucks. 3/4 ton dual wheel rear end swap All of the 3/4 and 1 ton frames are 34" across so this should work with a whole lot of years.
