once i get all the stuff (engine, trans, rear end) rebuilt in my 70 chevy i want to run an oil of good quailty but i don't want to pay 10-15 dollars a quart and the one thing i thought of was Mystik oil is a big name in tractor aplications and most tractors cost more than any automoblie so i thought what about running Mystik? any opinions on this? or is there better kind/brand to run for roughly same price cause i was thinkin of using the JT-8 stuff

This is just my personal opinion. The major oil companies make great oils that meet or exceed all the new car specs. This includes outfits like BMW and Mercedes.

This oil isn't anywhere near the prices you noted...I don't know if I have ever seen oil at those prices. If you stick with the off the shelf major brands..even a synthetic, your new engine will be fine.

Break it in properly, change oil when necessary and it will last a long time.

It takes a lot of infrastructure to manufacture a motor oil. Most of these specialty oils are jazzed up base oils purchased in bulk from a major refinery, then marked up a whole bunch.

i grew up on a farm in kansas. We ran (5) JD 4 wheel drives in high school. JD8760. we ran mysic in all of our tractors.
