All,
I'm looking for more information on the RPO 5.43:1 optional gears offered for 1 1/2 ton trucks in the late 40s'-early 50's. Does anyone know what part number the ring and pinion are? Any idea what the RPO code is for this option?

Any chance that someone knows where to get these?

Thanks!

I'm no expert ,but I beleive finding those gears are like finding a needle in a haystack and I don't think they are reproduced.If you find a source let me know too :}

Hey jgetti, I seem to remember reading someplace that you would be more likely to find what you what in the School Bus, 4500 series. I was looking into it a few years back. Good Luck....you will need it.

Does anyone know if the 1 1/2 ton COE trucks had the same type single-speed rear end as the other 1 1/2 tons?

The reason I ask is I found a website that has 5.43:1 gears for 1940-1954 1 1/2 ton cab-over-engine models only, and the part number is: WX2286A-7A

I would assume that this would work on my 1950 4400 1 1/2 ton, but I figured I'd ask first.
