Have a 55 GMC someone cut out the radio opening. Would be ok to mount a newer radio for now. Do they make a Face plate to neaten it up?

I don't think so... thing about GMCs as you probably have found is that although you can find Chev parts all day and night, few GMC parts are reproduced. Someone had done the same to my '59... removed the ashtray and cut out a larger radio opening, then cut out the original radio opening and crammed the ashtray back in... best bet is to cut your own patch panel from a virgin dash out of a salvage yard, or post an ad under "Parts Wanted" and see if someone can cut you that piece.

I was going to call you tomorrow. Anyway all they cut is a larger radio opening. To stuff the radio chassis through. thought a face plate might work

Just about any modern radio install shop should have a nice neat filler plate, this is what they do all day. Or you could cover this area with something and hide the stereo in the glove box.
